Motif Sign & Display Ltd was founded in 1982 by designers Margaret and Brian Townson, initially occupying a 1,000 sq.ft. factory unit at Sneckyeat Road, Whitehaven.

With rapid growth fueled by increasing demand for Industrial and Safety Signage we then moved to a 5,000 sq.ft. site at
Solway Road, Workington with a further expansion of our facilities in 2002 with a move to a 10,000 sq.ft. manufacturing unit at Reedlands Road, Workington. This site houses our Sales & Admin., Sign Manufacturing, Screen Printing, Engraving & Routing, Vehicle Livery and Fabrication departments.

Here at Motif Sign & Display, we manufacture and install a wide range of Signs and Printed Products, all backed up with continual investment in the latest manufacturing technology. Recent purchase acquisitions have included a Mimaki wide format printer, a laminator, Rolls Roller application system and a Pacer CNC Routing machine.

Our production facilities comprise of Screen Printing, Vinyl Cutting, Wide Format Digital Printing, CNC Engraving & Routing, and Sign Fabrication. Unlike most signmakers we have the facilities in our two extra large fitting bays to handle coaches, tankers, box wagons and skip wagons all in a temperature controlled environment.
